Memories of my childhood
Feb. 5th, 2024 10:49 amWe had a flea infestation in the house once.
Carpeted floors - From memory it was after the renovation and we had this sort of nice grey carpet.
Could have been pre-renovation, when we had 70s shag carpet. Lovely to walk on, but never ever not once did my parents ever pay to get the carpet washed, or hired the machine or anything (so yuck...).
And to get rid of the fleas, my mum would vacuum - and then stick sticky tape on the end of the vacuum to contain them, incase the fleas jumped back out of the vacuums.
I'm assuming she did other things to rid the fleas, but that stuck in my mind when I was thinking of how to get all the pantry moths out of the pantry. I mistakenly left a bag of white rice - banned food for GDM insulin really unless its a special occasion or you want to take more insulin- in its original plastic bag instead of transferring it to a hard container.
Of course, the moths came out of the rice - and boom, Infestation. Damminit.
But to be honest that pantry is so full of crap it really deserves a proper cleanout.
Instead of getting fewer and fewer food items in there and then getting replaced, it seems rather that its getting more and more full ... ... ..
I decided to vaccume up the moths as they flew around or lay on the ceiling and then I thought - what if they fly back out of the vaccume?
So I got out the stickytape
and taped up the end of the vacuum hose.
