Parabiosis means the anatomical joining of two individuals, especially artificially in physiological research.
Parabiosis by Penumbra is countlessly recommended as a top fic in the x-files fandom.
It's not the easiest read, entangling multiple layered scenes on top of a government conspiracy laden casefile. It meanders through the pre-relationship, the actual relationship - to requiem. It weaves stories into gaps between canon almost hidden as described in fanlore as "soft focus". - a novel length interpretation of season 7 indeedy.
"Their world continued, and Mulder drummed up an intriguing decapitation case with which to woo her."
Clearly referencing The Amazing Maleeni.
Her characterisation of M and S is very realistic.
The whole thing is smut without the porn.
I wish I read it slower, and with less focus on understanding the casefile, and had rather enjoyed the journey of her writing more.
I'm going to have to read it again. If I could I'd rewatch s7 first; but I don't think I want to go there. I need to move on from XF eventually.
Why am I still reading ff? [because it sure beats the RL and the news]
