No worries. The link was also available on the DBNSW a bit below but hard to spot ☺️
This is the list and may not be conclusive. I have put an effort estimate in - but it's purely a guess.
01. Governance [Low effort] - Committee in principle endorsement to proceed - noting below
02. Governance [Medium effort] - Completion (and tracking) of any mandatory child-safe training (both AOCRA and AusDBF) - Committee and volunteers
- Sport Integrity Australia Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction
03. Governance [Low effort] - Distribution (and tracking) of Complaints, Discipline policies and Responding/Reporting requirements to all volunteers including Committee
04. Governance [Medium/High effort] - Establish WWCCs (tracking) for Committee and Volunteers (inc coaches, sweeps, others?)
- Including interviews if a position is considered a Child Related position (via Assessment checklist)
- All relevant persons to acquire WWCCs
05. Operational [Medium effort] - Identify / appoint a Child Safe Officer and be educated
06. Operational [Medium effort] - Update registration consent forms on photographing children, medical info, guardian emergency contacts
07. Operational [Low/Medium effort] - Update TeamApp to support guardian-child relationships to access training and events
08. Education [Low effort] - Each new Committee member aware of junior rules in participating/racing in both AOCRA and AusDBF/DBNSW (age limits, safety requirements, etc)
09. Education [Low effort] - periodic member update on interacting with juniors - transport, communication (electronic), behaviour, photography (taking of, storing, distributing)
10. Operational [Low/Medium effort] - Establish suitable change areas and supervision plan
11. Coaching [Medium/High effort] - Develop junior-specific training plans
12. Coaching [Low effort] - Familiarisation and modification of on-water safety drills
13. Governance [Low effort] - Adopt Junior Acceptance Policy (endorsing AusDBF Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy + Child Safe Commitment) and distribute all.
My current issues are:
1. Ppl are leaving. Why are they leaving. What is the mechanism to exit interview them at present (is there a survey?) i have heard of zan, elani, jodie
2. Ppl are complaining. And yes thats annoying but whats our mechanism for at least listening to their greviences. An MPIO would be handy but as it seems such a hot topic perhaps we need more of an AI approach. Like survey. Or tell them to email.
3. Has anyone contacted or replied to Jodies email? Whats the follow up on that.
4. The culture working grup seems very important i think to ensuring that bluefins regroup from the communication battles of the past(and present). I think we need to work on a common goal that is simple. I would suggest something like: fun and inclusivity.
The purpose is 1. Is it fun cor members and 2. Is it inclusive for members.
So that being said, 2. Is it inclusive for members this goes back to: under 18s in bluefins.
Can we start a working grup on this, im keen to lead on this one and im happy to take it slow to bring all on board.
