I didn't think I would have enjoyed a fanfic that literally rehashed the whole season (and add in the scenes in-between but following most of canon) so much as I did.

Whilst I didn't agree with everything I learnt things about the series I didn't know (more useless trivia that I don't remember if I ever knew, and yes I won an x -files trivia comp once) and it was a lot like rewatching the series without rewatching the series. More time consuming as I couldn't just have it on in the background but also, more enriching to read how another saw the season and expand my own thoughts on it.

I hadn't rewatched any episodes since sometime in sept. 2020 and fanfic was meant to wean me off the series.

Clearly, it didn't work.

It took me four days total to read this work and I've been reading today almost solidly for 13 hours (I broke for a gym class for one hour ... and to have lunch and dinner...).

Once I get going, I really need to get to the ending. Even if it takes 13... hours... straight...

This fic was a different type of fun compared to your adrenaline filled Bonetree. Not as creative as stories like Erona's heart or The Magician series but enjoyable anyway (likely due to the quality of the writing) nonetheless.

That's...really long. I'm more of a mid-range reader so I'm reluctant to even start it. Maybe I'll read her short story and see how I like it instead.

It's a love hate relationship: the longer the fic, the more I'm keen to read it - the more time consuming it is, the more I hate that it's turning me into a terrible adult re: priorities. I'm by no means a DSR fan, but I'm reading one now ... thinking maybe it'll slow me down a little. But nope... I'm still hooked... :/

I remember this well. I still reread old favs--comfort reads. I am not reading much new fic. 2016 killed fandom for me. Maybe once Trump's gone, I'll get back to writing and reading fic. I miss it.

I've been wanting to write something. There's just so much already available for xf i always felt like someone's already always been there and done that. Writing at least feels more productive than just reading though.

I've written for fandoms with much less fic simple because of a lack of availability.
