Oct. 16th, 2020 10:51 amThe wind whips around the backyard, playing with the leaves.
The Cat, sits beside me on her scratch post, awaiting Breakfast
Fish tank hums so low it cannot be heard over the rumbling of the dehumidifer and spotify playlist.
The imac, I bought for its simplicity, sits amongst a pile of tissues, hand cream, bottles of pens, empty envelopes, coconut water bottles, box of maltofer tablets, almost soon to expire contact lenses, my woven handbag and various other paraphernalia I am yet to untangle.
Bonetree graces my screen with "Secret World".
I accidentally went to "Lost City" and was about halfway through -- arguing with myself that I've missed a series before realising that I indeed had. I feel deja vu like this happened the first time I read the series.
I wonder what happened to Bonetree now. She wrote these almost 20 years ago. Her writing is mature. She'd be almost 40 now. Maybe older.
I remember when I went to Peru, I had these cats eye shaped plastic glasses that were too trendy and made me stick out like a sore thumb. At work, back home, no one minded. In Peru I felt the eyes of the locals on me when they saw my glasses and my feet (croc thongs).
When I wore my contact lenses and hiking boots, no eyeballs followed me.
It's starting to rain outside, and I keep reading Bonetree's amazing tale; and chatting to my random friends on whatsapp and messenger.
