Perhaps because I'm also better organised and more thought out regarding the newborn phase.

Being more organised and prioritising my own comfort means that I've been able to deal with the newborn night wake ups by myself for the most part - as long as Pete tends to Wendy. And she sleeps through the night 50% of the time or has 1x awakening the other 50% of the time so overall, that's pretty decent. He's unfortunately on an uncomfortable sofa bed. I've offered to upgrade it - and it wouldn't be too hard to do so. But he wants to stick it out.

in 4 months I'll be on that sofa bed and I can tell you now - if I don't like it I will be changing it.

It's day 5 today and my milk is definatly in. We had the whole poo colour changed and also an avalanche of poop - like seriously, every nappy- is a poop. huge, giant, wet mushy yellow seedy/browny/almost pasty.... Yucks.

So much poop that we've got a rash - which was actually a bit hard to identify because kiddo still has this super red skin but I noticed that some of the skin at the thigh crease was broken.

I've commenced nappy rash cream- the one we used in Japan that seemed to work like magic on Wendypie. And I made it a mission to bathe kiddo cause I don't think I can get all the poo out of all the cracks without water - I should pull out the old spray bottle. I've got it somewhere.

So at 8pm I wanted to go to bed, but kiddo after all her insane pooping was still asleep since approx 16:45.

Wendy came home around 17:20 to dinner on the table (lucky her) and she ran in the front door, right past the room where new baby is sleeping calling out Mammy Mammy!Mammy! and straight to the dinner - then straight to the toilet, which was delayed cause i was using it - so her poop half slipped onto the bathroom floor (yes... we're having issues) and then she proceeded to do a massive one in the loo (success) and a bath- and I had a shower- and then she and Dad played in the living room while she was nakid - and she peed in the potty (more success) and then we had nen nen in Dad's bed, pjs, Goodnight to me, books by Dad--

and 20:00 Dad left her to put herself to bed. With not even a camera in the room since we're using it for newbaby.

At this point I'd tidied the kitchen and it was all ready for a bath.

New baby, was still asleep and I wanted to sleep too - So in the end I went to bed and she woke me at 21:00. I had slept for about an hour.

so. I half fed - then as Dad was going to bed, I bathed new baby alone. Cleaned up her cracks - the cord had also fallen off which I popped into a labeled tupperware I had prepared earlier to keep alongside Wendy's.

22:30
Now it's time for my second bedtime.

The news has been wild this week.

We've got Tay2 in town for the whole weekend doing 4 shows.
She went to visit the zoo out at Blacktown. How random. I've been to that zoo, its so cute. But Blacktown?!?! what an area. Who picked that. Go Blacktown. I'm rooting for you. Your better value than you think. 100% (I actually work in that area... )

That police officer influencer guy that killed some ? lovers.

That mother that went missing on a trail run in Victoria is now considered dead but they don't know whom or where.

The weather, with fires in one region of Aus and crazy storms out our way - which incidentally has effected Tay2.

Meanwhile Pete and I squeezed in a date at the local cafe. Which was unfortunately besiged by a group of approx 10 very loud women having some sort of catchup. The food was good but it was loud and warm. Kiddo napped in the buggy, then had trouble so was fed.

It was approx. a 5min walk from home so I didn't even bring a baby bag. 2 nappies and a pack of wipes incase there was some sort of emergency- but for all else my plan was to just go home.

With Wendy I didn't leave the house until she was 4 months old. The day pete went back to work, I was 2min down the road having a coffee with her in a sling before my mum was to come around.

Part of it was a lack of a good pram ( I had odd ideas back then) and part of it was waiting for her to be 4kg so I could safely wear her in a sling.

Newbaby is under 3kg - she got weighed on Day 4. Born at 3080g, she lost 168g post birth 5% - totally normal, I think Wendy lost approx 3% but anything <10% is non concerning and neither of those numbers are even borderline so. The next weigh in is at Day 7.

Sally popped around today,
And then Jess without Kian came to deliver me soy pudding that I couldn't eat while I had the GDM but was eating it either without the syrup (yucks) or with cream and mango... which is not a conventional way to eat tofu but actually is quite nice. I am unlikely to repeat such acts, however.

In anycase. Bedtime.
