It crept up on me ever so slowly, then all of a sudden it was here. Micheal was going to leave for Holly.

Prior to this, I had envisioned multiple ways Micheal might leave, but I hadn't thought of Holly as an option. It's a good one.

It was also a good time in the show.

In the age of binging TV (I can't imagine what people did before you could record TV and playback whenever)- where it's not a weekly timed episode, be there or you miss it (and you see this in The office in that episode where they all decide to have a Glee party at Gabe's house to watch an episode and they forgot to record it whilst watching it and the TV "breaks") watching the show is an entirely different experience.

The build up is less perhaps. I kept waiting for when Michael would leave and wondering how they'd deal with it.

The show was getting a little tedious. I couldn't imagine what else they could do with the Micheal character.

The final episode was really good. Loved the ending with Pam and Michael at the airport.

Pam and Michael have always had a special relationship.

Kinda weird at times when Michael would sexualise her, but that stopped when she got engaged to Jim which was surprisingly appropreate. But sweet because she would take care of him, looking out for him, giving him a "second chance" to get his greeting right in phone calls.

When he created the Michael Scott paper company and tried to rip off Dunder Mifflin, she was the only one who went with him. And even then she watched out for him.

When he took off the microphone and went silent, that's when I really realised it was the end of his character - and I had all but forgotten it was meant to be a documentary.

I'd grown to sorta like Michael. Sure, he wasn't your typical guy but he was actually the kind of boss that could be easy to work for if you were reasonable at your job. And having gone through a few bosses myself- I think that's an important feature. You don't want someone micromanaging you, but you do want someone who isn't going to make your life too difficult.

I can't believe Michael gave his 10 clients to Andy.

The others would have all killed each other for those clients so perhaps that was the best way to go about it.

Poor Dwight was always his best buddy. They had such a love hate relationship that seemed to turn into an extreme sort of friendship. Michael didn't give Dwight a recommendation for his job. Which hurt Dwight but I think Micheal did that to save The Office- to preserve it.

Looking forward to seeing what happens with the new boss and The new office. Trying to stay away from wikipedia and spoilers...
