Pete was listening to coronacast this morning and they were talking about how so many things about the vaccine are unknown. Will it prevent transmission? Dunno.

The other day there was a news report that they found covid in fecal samples in Victoria recently. So people in the community clearly have it.

Where I work, quarantine still holds. Some very sick people come from overseas with other issues and the quarantine period means we treat them as potential covid even though they test negative, until the entire 16 day period is over. Im in small ICU. We share the corridor, the supplies and help out the staff dealing with that pt so the risk, is there

Like the needlestick. Fairly low risk. But not no risk.

They said it was in the brain and mind research institute building but actually it's in the old Sydney uni school of nursing where I trained.

Now it's a vaccination centre.

Full circle.

The old front entrance and Cafe is now blocked off.

We entered from where there used to be brown wooden boxes for us to submit printed copies of our essays.

On my way over here I met a lady who was flustered because she didn't pre register and they were making her find some building to get a sticker.... and I wasn't informed about pre registration so I turned up, un registered.

The door guy looked at my uniform and was like ah you can register right here.

I hope poor flustered got in eventually.

After some registration near where the old entrance was, I had to wait in our old lecture theatre in those old seats that I uses to love for cracking my back in.

I phoned staff health for my needlestick initial blood test results, whilst I waited in the queue for the covid vax.

It was meant to be put under a pseudonym. But ED was clueless (as I said I had an intern who seemed to be on his first day). I also didn't get hepatitis B serology done but i know they were redone last year and it was fine. Anyways, its all negative (as it would have been) and of course the NUM of SSH hasn't sent through any paperwork on the lady. Or taken any bloods.

So now its up to me to chase. Figures.

Some random doc in scrubs waved to me as I walked past and I waved back but for the life of me I can't remember who they are.

The jab was relatively painless. I had a nurse do it. I got a little worried when they said it would be a doctor at the entrance because we all know (unless their anaesthetics) they can't calculate or give meds very well.

Then I got herded into another room which I think was our old study labs where they used to have dummy's on beds. I think this was the room where we had a class on how to make a bed.

I remember trying really hard not to roll my eyes really hard in this room and later realising the value of that class. It seems simple but if you don't know how to make a neat hospital corner or how to make a bed with another person you'll be instantly judged harshly.

The room has windows open, and I initially sat by a window. But then they started installing an air-conditioner so I had to move.

We got a mini snack bag with biscuits n crackers and water.

I wonder if someone is taking care of my patients back in ICU. They had relatively little going on, but if my central line falls out when the physio gets my lady out of bed I won't be happy.

I left at 10:10 and ill be done by 11:35
