I've finally decided to watch Law and order- in order properly. It's always been something I'd either watch because xf had just finished and it was on next at 10pm (which meant it would have been school holidays or nothing important was happening).

It's a cop show so there's not much to think about "mythology" wise- there's cops. Theres a case, they get evidence, they go to court. Yadda yadda. Everyone knows whose the main character loosely, the chick and the married guy - and then there's the kind boss guy...

There isn't much set up. But watching it in order, properly actually takes brain power and concentration - and you can actually see the character development of the cops.

People ship Stabler and Benson- they're nuts. He's married. Friendzone immediately. Like I don't mind romance amongst any characters - but come on.

It's hard watching Law and Order with a 2 year old with whom your trying to limit screen time with, let alone the violence - shootings, etc. So I watch it when she's asleep or not home.

And I get desperate to find out where it goes - 25 seasons is this year -- nuts. I barely had enough stamina for 7 of XF or 6 of ER. I burnt out being such a hard core fan both times. -- I don't know how long it'll take me to watch 25 seasons -- it's been about 1 season a week, so this could take almost half of my mat leave.

So I started reading synopsis online. I can't watch SVU in the bedroom because Netflix isn't linked to my phone (we are a naughty family) -- but-- so -- here's the kicker, Netflix only has season 6, 7, 9 .. yes I kid you not, no season 8, and no seasons 1-5 like wtf. When your doing a proper watch those seasons are essential. Then I find out we have a membership with amazon prime and they have it proper and straight 1-25. So after watching 6,7 wishing for 1-5 I started 1-5. It's interesting watching early partnership after seeing slick and sleek season 6. In season 1-5 Benson is still with his wifey and in S6 they have a breakdown. But I'm still not interested in Benslyer.

Then I read that his wifey dies in a horrible way. I'd feel so bad if my partner died that way. So I'm not entirely convinced of Benslyer and when I read about what happens in s24 between those two, it seems Benson isn't convinced either.

Work colleagues are great. I love some of my colleagues - at work. I don't mind going out with them socially sometimes outside - but to an extent. Like. We chat at work, it stays at work and then I go home and be me myself and I. My partner, my family - it's a different world.

My old colleague from MISH - different unit, same floor - she comes around and helps me bathe Wendy sometimes, feed her dinner etc. acts like a real aunty, except she's one that knows what she's doing - almost like an asian maid (she is asian) - or like a woman whose had many children (my MIL). While in my family most people don't know what to do with young (1-2 yr old) children, how to bathe them, or feed them etc. Sally's crossed the barrier from work colleague to close friend- closer than work colleague - There was a transition period for myself. It was short, but it existed and it was interesting.

I can see the non appeal of having a relationship with a coworker. She's 56. She adopted a child - he already has children - He ghosted her for 10 years supposedly (lolz. season 13-20 something when L&O franchise couldn't work a deal with the actor) and now he's back but I don't think they need to have a relationship.

It's always almost better before (any relationship) than after.

In my opinion, anyway.

So now I have 20 seasons to watch the ride.

You know what's funny - Pete thought SVU "special victims unit" meant special, like you know, retarded type of "special people". LOLz, I'd say it should be s for sexual but they deal with battered children too, not necessarily sexual, so I guess special is a better catch all.
