Polar opposite stories: Failure to Die and There's a Way

Woke up at 4:44 again

why is it that when I don't need to get up early (aka. can use the extra time to enjoy whatever I like) I do, with no alarm.

And when I have work I'll be in a half sleep right until the alarm goes off?

All I wanted to do today was sack on out the couch  with the rain outside. Clean a little. and drink a lot of tea. Do some laundry.

Today I read "Failure to Die" By Kel thanks to a rec on

"Failure to Die" by Kel
Written by someone who defiantly works in the hospital setting, made me want to re-watch E.R. again.
I was 13-14-15 when I was an E.R. fan, and I do remember going to Dymocks and reading the medical text books to understand the terms on the show. The creator,  was a doctor himself - Micheal Crichton who wrote novels to pay for medical school also wrote Jurassic Park (what a brain).  Kel is a brain too, as I'd categorise it as comedyfic reminscent of episodes like "The Amazing Melanie"

Score card:
Characterisation of canon characters: A
Characterisation of original characters: A+
Story line: B+
Smut: there wasn't any
Overall writing: A

And finally back to finishing off

"There's a Way" by Andrea
Barely more than PWP, this is parent smutt at its best. Andrea really pushes the boundaries as to how many sex scenes she can squeeze into a story. If there's a reason to do it - or even no reason at all - she's found a way to include it. The original character of Andrew and Leigh make it interesting. To contrast the fantastic work I read this morning; the medical bits were written by someone who clearly didn't do their research ... and has no idea. When will people learn that you can't figure out a woman's fertility status from a "so called" internal exam"?
Makes me think of how all those poor girls got raped and sexually abused by the Team USA Gymnastics coach Larry Nasar.

I digress, its basically porn with plot. Even though its not completed (and last part was posted not that long ago either--- 2016) it ends in a really nice place.

Characterisation of canon characters: B
Characterisation of original characters: B+
Story line: B
Smut: A+++
Overall writing: A-

It took me 10 hours of straight reading to get to the end of these two, but I'm really glad I made it through.
