You'd think I'd have learnt considering the last time was via the same mechanism: phone in the back pocket problem.

To teach myself to learn the pain of this issue, I spent 2 days agonising over what phone I wanted (dumb phone v, top of the line) and ended up with top of the line because -

what other idiot doesn't learn from the past? (Probably this one) and the top of the line phone is said to survive toilet drops and the dumb phone doesn't. Plus the good dumb phone, is not available from brick and mortar stores in my area so -

I could no wait longer for a phone.

I needed my phone to find out how her induction went - that was my tipping point.

Plus, Jen's wedding do up stuff is this weekend and next - if she needed my help, how would she contact me if I didn't have a phone?

Plus, why not enjoy the ingenuity and creativity of the software engineers at Goggle?

With a baby too - it would be nice to take some really good photos Instead of what felt like the half arsed ones from my SLR (mostly cause I don't know what I'm doing) and the old phone (because its old, it's just not got the best features).

So I went to the dark side and for the first time since perhaps the E72 Nokia blackberry knockoff I had back in my early 20s from a mobile plan (won't be going there again) I bought a top of the line phone.

Actually that E72 was a blast of a phone to have.

In honor of this new phone (and to RIP the old samsung) i will now list all phones I have had to date:

- Nokia flip, second hand from Linda's family $15
- a random phone with a blue backlight that was all the rage, $99 gifted by primary school mates when I was approx 15.
- E72 Nokia blackberry knockoff
- Some sort of standard samsung smartphone
- The Nexus (red colour sold me) I think from memory I replaced it for no good reason, and then it wouldn't turn on again.
- A second Nexus - white this time
- Samsung A20 (fell in the toilet) so I restarted nexus no. 2
- When nexus no. 2 died on me - I took Pete's old Samsung A20
- Then I dropped damn Samsung A20 in the toilet too

And here we are with Pixel 6 pro.
